About MeinWein
Passion ...
... to wine is the prerequisite for making the decision in the highly competitive market of the wine trade to enrich the world of wine with your own wine project for a select clientele with high demands on quality wines.
In 2010 the time had come: Pascal Rogel launched MeinWein and a brilliant opening tasting in the iconic location on the Maag area in Zurich. A lot has changed since then, experiences had to be gained and new goals had to be set. For three years I was able to welcome my regular customers and many new faces in the cozy, elegant shop on Dienerstrasse in Chreis Cheib and hold various tastings and special events. After the property was sold in 2016, an exciting era began with varied pop-up tastings and a perfect storage location on Zurich's Langstrasse. And in autumn 2020, MeinWein launched a new website with a comprehensive shop, valuable news and information about wine. This new era is a clear positioning within the social change to achieve the individual desired wine through various channels. Be it important personal advice for purchasing wine, a cultivated tasting or browsing and gathering information in the online shop .
The foundation stone...
...Pascal Rogel set his path to becoming a wine expert in 2004 by successfully completing the advanced training course at the ZHAW in Wädenswil. To this day, this intensive training proves to be the basis for his broad knowledge of wine and the ability to assess and describe a wine organoleptically. Shortly afterwards, six exciting and demanding years as a wine consultant in the renowned Zurich wine shop Baur au Lac Vins followed, with the result that to this day there is hardly anything left that can permanently shock Pascal Rogel: No question and no customer could be too complicated .
The highest commandment in the wine business is: never stand still . Because developments in winemaking, wine characters and the actual trade are subject to constant innovation. If you as a wine dealer want to do justice to this circumstance, that means in plain language: continuous training, trying out, searching, discovering, confirming, refuting and tasting, tasting and tasting again . It should be mentioned that a serious wine aficionado does not swallow the fine wines examined during a tasting event, but rather spits them out again for the sake of his health and ability to judge.
The target customer...
... from MeinWein is mostly of a private nature. But MeinWein also supplies some selected restaurants and bars with a diverse range of products. Because they also appreciate the strict wine selection, they just think Wines of above-average quality find their way into the MeinWein range. The independence of MeinWein makes possible what many only dream of: selecting only the best from what is becoming increasingly unclear. The price plays an important role because no one wants to pay too much. But a good wine has a lower price limit . Above all, the producer himself should benefit from this, as he will be able to make a living thanks to his talent and professionalism. And if his creations are produced sustainably and close to nature , there is an even greater chance that they will find a place in MeinWein's extensive collection.
