Gianfranco Fino could be described as a passionate perfectionist, a master of his art who reveals himself in every drop of his iconic Primitivo ES . Many wines of this variety from Puglia are averagely good and unfortunately usually far too sticky sweet. Not so with the ES, it floats on a higher level and in 2009 received the title of the best wine in Italy alongside the legendary Sassicaia. This award is the result of a carefully developed vision: The wine is made from grapes from very old vines, up to 90 years old, and the selection is so strict that only 400 grams of grapes are harvested per vine.
The ES is more than just a wine, it is a monument of southern Italian viticulture, characterized by its impressive aromas and its powerful, velvety and balanced structure.
