Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro

Essence from the Ribera del Duero

In 1982, the Arzuaga Navarro family wrote a new chapter in the world of winemaking. Their winery, idyllically located near the Duero River, on the road connecting Soria and Valladolid, embodies an ode to stone - a solid, rustic-looking structure reminiscent of a monastery, with arcades, towers and a characteristic bell tower.

At the heart of this project was Florentino Arzuaga, a passionate wine lover . His vision took shape when he purchased Finca La Planta in Quintanilla de Onésimo, Valladolid. This was followed by the planting of the vines, the construction of the cellar and finally the production of the wine, which corresponded exactly to his ideas: powerful and yet elegant, structured and at the same time complex.

The Arzuaga family combines entrepreneurial ambition with a strong sense of aesthetics and the tireless pursuit of perfection. This is also reflected in the winemaking philosophy, which is based on the uniqueness of each terroir. Of the 1,400 hectares of the winery, the most privileged locations were selected for vine cultivation. Surrounded by pines, holm oaks, junipers and a diverse fauna, including wild boars and deer, each vine is cared for with care and attention to detail . Because in Arzuaga-Navarro they are aware that good wine cannot be made without healthy, high-quality grapes.

Arzuaga-Navarro's wines are created in harmony with Castile's poor soils and harsh climate, resulting in limited yields. Overproduction would affect the intensity and quality of the wine. This dedication has made Arzuaga-Navarro's wines some of the most respected in the Denominación de Origen Ribera del Duero, recognized and appreciated both in Spain and internationally.
